The client is Angela, a B2B copywriter and content writer based in Brisbane (who is also the creative director and copywriter for The Digital Brew). Yes – it’s my OTHER site for when I’m not working on The Digital Brew projects 🙂
It’s a little weird writing about my own site, but I’ll do my best… I needed a site that would help visitors quickly understand what I do, who I work with, and how they can work with me. I look at my site as my business’s home on the internet. So it includes EVERYTHING – info on my services, rates, who I am, and how I work. That’s a plus for readers who like lots of info, and it’s also great for Google because it means plenty of content and keywords. The challenge with this (for my wonderful designer, Stew) was to represent all this information without overwhelming the reader or making the design look… well, hideous.
Stew designed a WordPress website for my personal brand that incorporated business-like, conservative colours (we were channelling LinkedIn a bit here), balanced with my slightly less serious photos. He custom-designed 7 main pages, plus 3 individual services pages and 3 freebie download pages. He incorporated a newsletter opt-in integrated with ActiveCampaign, interactive features (I get comments about my about page all the time… you’ll see what I mean), an online booking form, and more. We’ve taken this site through many updates and upgrades over the last few years, as my services change, my brand evolves, and I find time to write more copy to target specific SEO keywords. And that’s honestly the best part – the site is never fully done, with ongoing support from Stew, it’s always improving and keeps up with my brand as it changes.
