Our client, Paul Young, is an IT strategy consultant to CEOs based on the Gold Coast.
Paul was retiring from his corporate CIO role but wanted to launch an IT advisory brand to start taking on clients (in between playing golf and the other things retired people do). So he engaged us to create a website that would launch his new brand.
After some initial back and forth, we settled on a personal brand approach for Paul. That’s because he’s mainly looking to operate as a one-man-band, and a personal brand is much easier for clients to recognise, remember, and trust. To keep things simple (and save costs), we developed a one-page website for Paul, with 5 sections. For the branding, we chose conservative colours, with contrasting orange for buttons and some headings. We looked at a number of IT-industry websites to inspire the design as we wanted plenty of visual cues for visitors to know they’re in the right place if they’re looking for help with IT. When writing the copy, our focus was on keeping it simple and not overwhelming the reader with information, while still explaining in non-technical terms what services Paul can help with. We were really stoked with how the site turned out – we’re confident that it’s one of the best personal brand sites for consultants in the IT industry.
