About Our Web Hosting & Support
What do you mean by ‘unlimited content updates’?
You may make unlimited content update requests at any time via email or our collaboration platform. We will work through requests at a reasonable rate (we anticipate handling up to four updates per week for each client), depending on demand.
What are some examples of done-for-you content updates you can do as part of the support plan?
You could ask us to:
- Add or schedule a blog post
- Add a new testimonial
- Update your team bios
- Update a few images
- Update some copy/wording on 1-2 pages
What happens if I need a bigger or more complex update?
Any task that goes beyond the scope of our included updates will be considered a new project. This means we’ll need to send through a quote or estimate for your approval.
As part of my content updates, can you create the content for me?
Content creation (blog writing, copywriting, graphic design, image sourcing, etc.) is not included in our ongoing support plan. If you need content creation, we may be able to offer this as a separate service or recommend another freelancer who can help.
What’s involved in the regular visual website checks?
We check up to four core pages of your website multiple times throughout the week to ensure everything is working/displaying correctly — this helps us catch issues that might otherwise go unnoticed.
What is a 'failover server'?
We offer a ‘failover’ server as an optional add-on to your care plan. When this is activated, your server will be cloned to a separate server automatically at a set interval (between 1-24 hours, depending on the website). If your main server ever goes down, we can point your domain to the failover server, which will minimise downtime. This feature is perfect for mission-critical websites where even a short amount of downtime can be detrimental. Contact us to find out more.
Can I use my own website hosting?
As long as you’re on our hosting and maintenance package, you’ll need to host your website with us. This is to ensure we can manage all our clients’ sites efficiently. And so that we have full access and visibility to fix problems quickly if they arise.
What happens to my website if I leave your care plan?
We include hosting and maintenance as part of your website package for the first 12 months. After this, you’re welcome to move to another provider. If your website is hosted with us, then we will provide a full file and database backup of your website to move elsewhere. We may be able to assist with the move (depending on your new provider) for an additional fee.
What happens if my site is hacked or goes down?
The purpose of our care plans is to provide preventative care so that your website doesn’t get hacked or go offline. But occasionally, something could happen to take your site offline (it can happen to even the biggest, most secure websites). If this happens, we will work to get everything back up and running as quickly as possible.
Can I cancel at any time?
Your website package includes hosting and maintenance for the first 12 months, as part of your payment plan. After the first 12 months, you can continue working with us or we can move you to another host.
